RING RING. The landline shrieks. My dad answers. A voice slithers through the receiver: "Hello sir, I am calling from BT. You need to—" SMACK. My dad slams the phone onto the table and—without a word—sprints to the kitchen drawer. What the flip is going on? Seconds later, he’s back, eyes locked in hunter mode. In his hand? A whistle. Before I can react… SHRIEEEEK! The loudest, most eardrum-splitting sound I’ve ever heard blasts straight into the phone’s microphone. Then SLAM. My dad hangs up. I stand there, blinking. And then I get it… Scammer. One of those bottom-feeding parasites who spend their days preying on the elderly, the disabled, the vulnerable. And this one? Well… let’s just say his eardrums got a little extra "customer service" today. But here’s why I’m telling you this. Some business owners are a lot like scammers. They don’t steal outright, but they sure do have that “take, take, take” mentality. I see it all the time:
They treat their audience like ATMs. And guess what? People notice. And they tune out fast. The solution? Simple. Stop taking. Start giving. Next time you write an email, post, or pitch, ask yourself:
If the answer is no, step back. Become the trusted advisor instead of the pushy salesman. Because if you don’t? Well… no one’s gonna blow a whistle in your ear. But your business? It might just go deaf. Talk soon, Chris @ChrisJonesyy |
