After auditing 100+ sales funnels this year, I noticed something that honestly still blows my mind.

Coaches and consultants with insane engagement: hundreds of likes dozens of comments and people praising them for their wisdom, their insights, their frameworks.

And yet, they're getting:

No calls.
No sales.
No list growth.

Because while they’re killing it on the content front…

Mistake #1: Only offering a discovery call

Every coach seems to have this plastered on their bio like a badge of honor:

“Book your FREE discovery call.”

Yayyy, great.

But if everyone’s offering that... why should they pick you?

Why should I choose your calendar link over the 17 others I saw today?

Here’s a smarter play:

Offer a free educational resource first.

Something personal.
Something that positions you as a thought leader, not just another coach with a booking link.
Something like… an email course.

Mistake #2: No newsletter link (or worse... no email list at all)

Many coaches STILL act like email is dead.

Even though email marketing still has the highest ROI of ANY marketing (36:1)

The reality:

Email is where the money is.

Studies show email is 178% more effective at driving sales than social media. And the best part? When someone opens your email, they’re not being bombarded by 47 cat videos and an ad for Crocs.

It’s just you and them.

Direct. Focused. Intentional.

So if you’re not building a list, you’re not building a business. End of.

Mistake #3: No lead magnet whatsoever

This one kills me. Most coaches rely on “Get in touch” forms.

Or worse: just a vague contact link.

That’s like putting your shop in the desert and telling people, “Just come find me.”

Your prospects are busy. They need you to make the first move.

So hat’s why lead magnets exist (and why an educational email course is the best-kept secret in the funnel game.) Because instead of asking people to commit to a call…

You're offering value.
You're telling stories.
You're giving insights.

Something that gives first before stealing their time.

And when you think about it, it’s just like dating.

You don’t ask someone to go out with you at “hello.”
You go for a drink. Share stories. Build a connection.
